workshop on laboratory teaching

On Nov 9, the IQ-Lab researchers led a workshop on laboratory teaching at the DSE, aimed at course leaders, instructors, and laboratory technicians. In this 3-hour programme, the participants discussed how they can organise lab activities and develop the extant curriculum, with a focus on:

• Feedback practices in the lab (both oral and written)
• Available support for teachers’ professional development, including that from the IT department
• Design and use of pre- and post-lab activities and how they should be an integral part of the laboratory curriculum

The IQ-Lab research group presented examples and experiences from their research. Ideas and perspectives on the topics were shared between the approximately 30 participants of the workshop.
