New publication
Hendra Y. Agustian has published a 'Perspective' article in Chemistry Education Research and Practice (Royal Society of Chemistry), in which he proposes a conceptual framework and a working model for integrated assessment in the laboratory. The framework synthesizes key literature in science studies and the learning sciences relevant to university laboratory education. The titular hexad of learning domains refers to laboratory work that considers students' cognitive, conative, affective, psychomotor, social, and epistemic domains, framed altogether as an epistemic practice. This hopefully substantial contribution to theory development in this emerging field of the scholarship will lay a foundation for his current work in the IQ-Lab. The article will be fully accessible soon on the journal website for those interested in improving laboratory curriculum design, instruction, and assessment.
