Article published in DUT: Students’ perception of time in lab teaching

As part of WP3, among other things PhD student Laura T. Finne has explored students’ experience of laboratory teaching in the pharmaceutical sciences education. She has performed semi-structured interviews with six students, using a phenomenographic approach.

In this study, she finds two distinct ways of experiencing time in the laboratory. The students either experience laboratory teaching as a time for immersion, or as a waste of time. To a large extent, the students’ way of perceiving time spent in the lab affects their perception of learning and their preparation for exam in lab courses.
